How does IPL work at correcting scarring?

When any part of the tissue in your skin is injured, your body will naturally produce collagen fibers to heal the area. This collagen is thicker because it is a trauma-healing response and produces what you know as scarring, which usually takes on three forms:

• Flat and slightly discolored, the most common kind
• Raised scar, which occurs when too much scar tissue is produced
